I had a cat who looked JUST like Molly. His name was Harry and he was a big should hog, as well. It was that or stretching out across my textbooks when I was trying to study.
I'm still laughing Roger. It reminds me of the good old days when my budgie used to sit on my shoulder, crawl down inside my top, and nestle down for a sleep inside whatever I was wearing. One day I nearly forgot to get her out before leaving to pick Daryl up from school (it was a long time ago). And yet another time I got her out, put her back in her cage, not realising that she had laid an egg. Imagine my horror when it dropped out and smashed on the floor!
What a great clip! My orange tabby (Mikey AKA SnuggleBunny) always wants to be on my lap, especially when I pull out the laptop. I wish he would settle for my shoulders! Ciao! Marie
I found this via another blog. That was hilarious! Especially when you started trying to 'shimmy' her off, and she juts looked at you as if to say, 'do you mind?'
I love it. What are you writing there by the way? Do you write longhand first, or are those just notes? Or are you just pretending to write for the camera?
Hi Rachael, I write long hand at the moment. It's my way of kickstarting the process. Gets me away from the distraction of the computer too.
I was genuinely writing, then she climbed on my shoulders. I thought I may as well film it. She stayed lodged on my shoulders as I set up the camera, even allowing me to get up and check the framing.

LMAO, Roger! Oh, you're so very assertive.

Btw, she's a beauty.

Oh Roger, that is hilarious. And what a gorgeous cat:)
I have a dog that crawls up on my lap to get warmed up... she's a labrador though and really gets in the way of the Laptop!!!
Brilliant film, I loved that!
Aw, she loves you, Roger. But as if writing isn't difficult enough, eh?

Bless her!
Genius, Roger!
Every writer needs a muse...
There's no going back when they discover the shoulder. We call ours the cat-scarf.
There's that lovely photo of Perec with his cat on his shoulder. But of course he isn't trying to write.
LOL Roger! Bless her! You're obviously her favourite person in the whole wide world :)

Ah - brilliant!!!
and "Oh, you're so very assertive."
- great stuff
Maybe you could hire her out as a stunt cat. Or does she only do that for your shoulder?
She's watching the pen...she has ambitions, that cat. Be careful!
This really made me laugh. My cat lies on my lap with his head resting on my wrist as I try type.
Thanks to everyone who's commented. Nice to see some new people looking in. She was at it again today, by the way. Weird animal.
Oh I loved this. But I am afraid Molly has won me over and I vote she stays. Not that Molly needs my vote :)
That's sooo adorable! :) She is so cute. I bet she was annoying but I know you love her for it. ;)

She's one weird cat.
Roger,
My cat got into exatly the same habit. I'm also a writer and sitting at home at my desk all day. It became impossible to write.
I cured her by putting her favourite cushion on a corner of my desk and putting her there instead.
She got used to it. I wasn't rejecting her completely and she still got to be very close to me.
She's also fond of typing for me and likes the brightness button and num lock.
