World scoop.

The world's first review of A Gentle Axe is now up on Crimeficreader's 'It's a Crime' website.

You can also read an interview with R.N.Morris there too. That's me, by the way.

I'm also interviewed on Jennifer Prado's blog.

My thanks to both Crimeficreader and Jennifer.

Great review, Roger. I'm not too big on historical fiction (I recently had a go at 'The Good German' and came over all funny) but this R N Morris bloke sounds like he might be worth a read...

My pleasure, Roger.

A word to Ian: in all honesty, I shy away from anything historical, as I prefer to read contemporary fiction. I had to force myself to start A Gentle Axe. (Much embarrassment on my part and I'm still blushing.) I also shy away from classic fiction, so C&P was anathema to me.

But I'm so glad I made that series of pushes.

A Gentle Axe is an enjoyable read and flows easily. It's not bogged down with anything I feared; it's the opposite.

So many crime novels today result in a chase where the perpetrator is identified early on; not so here. This lovely plot keeps you guessing to the end. (And I was flummoxed!)

It really is a great crime fiction debut from Roger and he should be proud of it.
