She makes some good points about
"the desire to possess material fragments of people and places that have been important to us."As she says:
"an object no longer simply embodies its material value; what counts is the narrative in which it becomes embedded."
It put me in mind of this book.
Kathryn Hughes has written a book about Mrs Beeton.
