Mentioned in dispatches (well, the FT).

There's an article on page 12 of today's FT by Danuta Kean, headed 'Vampires and cannibals find prey online'. It's about publishers, authors and filmmakers using myspace to reach new audiences.

I get the briefest of mentions:

"Last week, Macmillan author Roger Morris held a virtual reading of his novel Taking Comfort on myspace."

Not much, but then Toby Litt only got two more words than me and there were only five authors mentioned altogether, three of whom were Thomas Harris, J.K.Rowling and Mr Litt. So I didn't do bad.

Every little helps.

Congratulations, Roger.

I like your Tesco approach to fame.

David Bowie once sold shares in himself and his future prospects. I don't think the scheme worked out very well, but I lost track of it.

Congratulations - very high-brow!

Thanks James, Mark and Julia.

James, if I could get Tesco to stock the book, that would be cool. (Although you can order it through tesco.com, I believe.)

Be serious Mark.

I'm a high-brow kind of guy, Julia. But that has more to do with a receding hair line.

MySpace is a good tool, but so sterile, bereft of any real interaction. I can't help thinking it would be so much better if there was a proper way to communicate with "friends" on there.

btw Am on holiday for the next few weeks, so zmail if you've suddenly got a window of opportunity for that beer.

Kean now has the article posted on her site.

Thanks cfr - I shall change the link and check it out. Might even leave a comment.

Hi Birdy - maybe it's best just to look on it as a tool. There are so many people on there it becomes hard to interact with any on a meaningful consistent basis.
