Kathryn has written a review of the book in the manner of the book. It's very clever, very funny and, well, a little unnerving.
I like Kathryn's description of herself, by the way: "I'm a person who, mainly, writes. I also wonder about things, such as this absurd life. I like to read things that other thinking and wondering beings have felt important enough to write down."

I like the idea to write the review in the book's style. Very entertaining. ps you might want to aviod rashbre central for thursday's post unless you want to be tagged.
The Digested Read in the Guardian does books in their style in 500 words - perhaps they should commission Kathryn?!

It's Jim Crace who does the digested reviews for the Guardian, I think. Normally with the intention of ripping the piss out of some hugely hyped release. I had hoped Kathryn's pastiche was more affectionate?!
It was unnerving. I promise I will never write another book in that style again! I'm done with it.
Not Jim but John Crace. Are they really all piss takes? Sorry, I didn't mean to put Kathryn's in that category!
I spent some time reading the digested reads - yes, it's John, not Jim. Brilliant! Very clever, they are. The current one is Peter Carey's Theft. I also read the Vernon God Little one - very very funny.

Oops, Jim/John. I kind of knew I hadn't got it quite right, but there are no fact-checkers in the blogosphere. I thought I saw an interview with him where he said he only picks books that he thinks need bringing down a peg or two, but I got his name wrong so I could easily have got that wrong too!
Is there a Jim Crace? (I have a feeling John Crace is known as Jim to his mates. Okay, I made that up. Desperate, I know.
